Grooving and Cruising Sage

I love watching Sage show his love for exploration. He has always had amazingly strong legs, and seemed to want to walk before her could crawl, but now, since he was nine months old, he can do both. This weekend I got to watch him duck under bars of chair legs to make it to tables where he could both pull himself up and slowly let himself down. He can move to the toy or the electrical outlet and wires (while checking to make sure we were watching.) His pride in moving around, standing up and letting go was thrilling.

Watching Sage and Millie reminds me of how my life changed when Justin and Michael were born. After eight years of doing whatever I wanted, I started to want to stay home and watch whatever the boys did next. Then the years flew by and I still love watching my sons, just now they are incredible fathers. Life is good!

Millie Starts The Day Right

I was walking into a three hour staff meeting Monday morning when I got the call. "Millie has gotten all dressed up and is calling herself Cece. She has on her sunglasses, her Easter dress, her tutu with a blouse and a jacket and her pink shoes." her mom reported.

"I'm Cece, where's Papa?" she was saying. I imagined her 458 miles away thinking of us. I could see the twinkle in her eyes, the light way she almost leaps as she takes each step, and the proud big girl smile across her face.  She is at that wonderful age of two and a half, full of understanding, repeating everything she hears, and loving watching each one of us fall in love with her over and over again.

The love she brings out in each of her parents and grandparents is what I wish for all children.  That they be treasured and adored.

Later that night, as I was skyping with her mom, she slipped into the room and curled up in front of the camera, smiled shyly, waved her little hand and said good-night, finishing the words with a kiss to the screen as she headed off to bed. This is love!
